San Clemente - "Penny" Penelope Teresa Pito- lived a full & beautiful life. Born in Chicago IL to Frank & Teresa Gazzolo, her favorite memories were of summers at their lake house in Wauconda, IL. Penny excelled in academics- graduating high school early, graduating with honors from Marquette University, & obtaining a masters in Linguistics & Education from Purdue. Penny met & married the love of her life, John Pito Jr, in 1968. The two decided to move to San Clemente in 1972 to raise a family where she lived for 52 years. Penny & John (who predeceased her in 2021) raised their two daughters Stefani Lin & Ann Elizabeth with love. Penny was not only a devoted wife, exceptional mother & homemaker, but also a proud business owner- running their family owned downtown print shop "Concord Graphics" with John for 27 years. Penny was very involved in the community- contributing her time & talents to the SC Hospital Women's Guild, the Cabrillo Playhouse, local church groups & many other organizations. Penny was warm & cordial, welcoming their customers into the print shop, (who later became friends) with conversation & friendship. Penny was brilliant, loving, artistic, & physically adept too- earning MVP on her HS volleyball team in her youth, enjoying Jazzercise in the '80s & exercising routinely up until her passing. Penny is survived by her two daughters Stefani Crofoot & Ann Coldesina, her 3 siblings: Frank Gazzolo, Patricia Peck, & Terry Deceault, and her 2 grandchildren she was tremendously proud of, Sofia Rose Williams & David "Anthony" Coldesina. Penny passed at the age of 84 on vacation in Fiji. With the memory of her beautiful smile & infectious laugh, Penny will be in our hearts forever. We are hosting a Celebration of Life March 27th, 3-6pm at Ann's home: 202 Calle Marina, 92672. Please RSVP to annpito@gmail.com. You can also look to the bereavement site Everloved for more memories.
